Fort Worth Senior Photographer-Spring Senior Pictures at Fort Worth Ranch
Last spring I had the honor of photographing this stunning high school senior for her senior portraits at her ranch just outside of Fort Worth, Texas. It was a dreary spring day and had actually been extremely overcast all afternoon. There were heavy clouds, but since we had already scheduled her hair and makeup appointment with my makeup artist, I decided that we could still create some gorgeous senior pictures as long as the rain held off for a couple of hours during her session.
As a Fort Worth senior photographer, I always start my senior sessions with a phone consultation to discuss anything meaningful for the high school senior. When Quincy’s mom contacted me, she told me she loved animals and had been riding horses and raising show pigs (and goats!) throughout her childhood and entire high school career. I knew that portraits with the horses and animals on her picturesque ranch would really embody her personality and lend to some gorgeous senior photos.
Aside from incorporating any hobbies and interests, I always make sure to discuss wardrobe options and ideas for the senior portrait session. As a Dallas Fort Worth Senior Photographer, wardrobe ideas (and hair and makeup for the ladies) is one of the most asked questions I receive. I always tell clients I am here to help with wardrobe suggestions. I welcome texts with photos and will always lend my advice to what photographs well and is flattering in a picture. For more wardrobe tips see blog post here on what to wear.
Depending on which senior package is booked depends on how many wardrobe changes we do during the session, but with two to four outfits included, it’s always a good idea to have everything coordinated ahead of time.
Since I edit with bright and rich colors, I really love how vibrant colors photograph in portraits. I always suggest that the senior wears one dressy or more formal outfit and one that is more casual. If we are doing three to four outfits it’s always fun to incorporate sports jerseys, cheer/dance uniforms, or any other hobby that you participated in during high school. For ladies, I also love what a hat lends to senior pictures and the accessories always help pull everything together.
We captured so many amazing senior photos during this senior photography session in Fort Worth! I absolutely love what all the animals and the gorgeous ranch lend to the background of each portrait.
This was my first time to capture equine photography and I absolutely loved capturing the beauty and grace of the horses on camera. Not only did we get to capture Quincy with her horse, but we also managed to get pictures with the new foal, her show cow, and Annabelle the goat!
One of Quincy’s senior photos was even featured as the top ten animal portraits of the week on Summerana Photography’s website. To see article click here.
