Grapevine Family Photographer -Fort Worth Stockyard Family Portraits
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, the Fort Worth Stockyards are one of my very favorite locations for family pictures in Fort Worth! I love all the wooden architecture inside of Stockyard Station, as well as the cacti garden that is by the Stockyards. It makes for such interesting details and texture, and truly lends itself to rustic, yet beautiful, family portraits. The beauty of this location is that it photographs well almost all year long! Even in the dead of winter and heat of summer, when many other locations lose some of their natural beauty, the Fort Worth Stockyards never disappoint (to see other sessions done at the Stockyards click here).
This sweet family contacted me looking for somewhere within driving distance of Grapevine. They wanted something casual, yet scenic, for their fall family pictures. Their oldest son was also a high school senior, and while he was not having senior pictures taken individually, they wanted to capture the family as a whole during his senior year. After talking about this, and the fact that they had two other teenage sons, I knew that the Stockyards would be the perfect location.
I love how they mixed a casual yet well fitted wardrobe to give the pictures a elegant feed in a casual setting. They picked a wardrobe that complimented each other, but didn’t all match. They also followed the guidelines of picking tailored clothing, which is always more flattering in family pictures than options that lend less shape.
My job as a Grapevine photographer is not only to take your pictures, but to help you plan ahead of time for a successful session that matches your vision and personality. The location and the wardrobe really set the tone for the final portraits, so I always make sure to send families and seniors my wardrobe guide and location lists as we plan their sessions.
In addition to talking about wardrobe and location, I always ask what a family plans to do with their portraits after the session. If they will be hanging on their walls, I want to make sure that the location we choose matches the feel and decor of their home.
