Stunning Miss Ellie, who is a 2021 senior at Colleyville Heritage High School, looked absolutely gorgeous for her senior portrait session at this Fort Worth villa. We had such a gorgeous day, you would have never known it was January! This just goes to show, with the right location and lighting, you can capture beautiful images even in the middle of the winter!
Ellie’s mother contacted me a couple of months prior to plan her senior portraits. She wanted something unique and stunning, so I just knew this Fort Worth villa would be the perfect location for her senior portraits. It is elegant and timeless, and all of the architecture lends to lovely senior portraits year round. In the middle of winter, when everything has died and and the trees have lost their leaves, I always encourage locations that boast picturesque architecture (click here to see another one of my favorite Fort Worth senior portrait locations with lovely architecture).
This villa reminds me of my vacation in Tuscany, Italy many years ago. It has a European inspired flare and you would never know it was nestled in Dallas Fort Worth, and not the heart of the Mediterranean. There is a grand winding staircase, a large balcony that boasts a spectacular sunset, a rooftop, stone archway, and lovely treed area complete with a wooden swing. It is one of my very favorite location for Fort Worth senior pictures due to all the variety of backdrops and architecture. You truly have so many looks and backgrounds all within on location.
After we chose this villa as the location for Ellie’s senior pictures, we then planned hair and makeup and wardrobe choices. I always recommend that girls have their hair and makeup professionally done by one of the makeup artists I partner with. I prefer classic timeless makeup, just heavy enough to photograph beautifully, but light enough that it still looks natural and reflects the senior’s gorgeous natural beauty. After setting up a hair and makeup appointment for my high school senior’s portraits, we then move on to discuss outfits and wardrobe selections.

We also discuss the senior’s personality and look at the chosen location (my location list may be found here) to see what attire matches our preferred spot. Since the villa is so formal, I always recommend at least one formal outfit choice. The pink tulle skirt pictured below, which I keep in my client closet, is often used by my senior girls at this location.
