Fort Worth Baby Photographer | First Birthday Cake Smash Portraits

I had the pleasure of capturing Miss Ella’s first birthday portraits and cake smash session back in September. This was the month it rained constantly in Dallas Fort Worth so it created for several reschedules due to all the rain and mud.

When her mom called me, we talked about her vision for the session. She wanted somewhere outdoors with pretty green grass, trees, and a classic timeless feel. I sent her several location options and she decided on the Colleyville Nature Center as her location of choice.

When we arrived at the session, I told her we would take the family portraits first then move on to photos of Ella alone and her with her smash cake. We always do the cake smash at the end because of the mess some babies make.

I always recommend at least two outfits for cake smash photos and plenty of wipes and water to clean up afterwards.

Miss Ella took the cutest photos with her parents but wasn’t too fond of being alone in her Birthday and cake smash photos. The photos of her crying are actually some of my favorites though and I think they will create such adorable memories down the road (hello wedding slideshow!).
