Fort Worth Family Photographer Studio Portraits at the Lumen Room Fort Worth
As a Fort Worth family photographer I’m normally known for my outdoor family and senior portraits drenched in golden light at sunset. And while outdoor portraits will always have my heart, there is also something almost ethereal and angelic about the look of all white studio portraits.
I’ll be honest, I don’t love the look of flash or artificial light. It can occasionally be done well, but I almost always can tell the difference between artificial light and the soft whimsical feel of light from the sun. There are also times when the outdoors is just not a location preference due to the extreme heat here in Texas or in the dead of winter when everything outside loses its color and is cold and windy. For these times, I just adore this natural light studio called the Lumen Room near Downtown Fort Worth in the old historic district.
The Lumen Room portrait studio is in a historical restored building and it has so much nostalgia. There are large industrial windows that the sunlight seeps through and paints such beauty on the crisp white walls and flooring. One of the walls is adorned in wainscot and gives such elegance to portraits taken with the wall framing the background. It’s also airconditioned and heated, which is a huge bonus during times of extreme temperatures. The only drawback is it does tend to rent out fairly far in advance in peak seasons and on weekends, so I always tell my clients to plan in advance if they know they want portraits taken here.
Below are some of my favorite family portraits taken at the Lumen Room from various family and child sessions over the last couple of years.
