Dallas Arboretum Family Photography
The Dallas Arboretum is one of the most beautiful places in the DFW Metroplex. It makes for stunning senior pictures, as well as family portraits, and is one of my favorite locations as a DFW family and senior photographer.
“Located on the shores of White Rock Lake, the Arboretum’s 66 acres include a complete life science laboratory with endless potential for discovery. The Arboretum has a 75 member Board of Directors, 120 full-time paid staff members, 50+ part-time paid staff members, and more than 273 active volunteers.”
My favorite times of year to shoot at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens are during the spring when they have Dallas Blooms and in the fall during Autumn at the Arboretum. Since the gardens close at 5:00 pm throughout the year, the best light is in spring and fall when the days are not so long and the light is softer in the late afternoon and early morning.
Due to crowds, I only shoot portraits at the Dallas Arboretum at either 9:00 am on Sundays or 4:00 pm on weekday evenings.
There is a beautiful tree tunnel, lush gardens, streams, and stunning architecture. In the spring the tulips at Dallas Blooms make a beautiful backdrop, and during the fall all the autumn colors, as well as the pumpkin patches, make for beautiful fall pictures.
Below are some of my favorite family and children’s portrait sessions from last fall taken at the Dallas Arboretum. As you can see, it creates a stunning backdrop that makes for unique and timeless family and child portraits.
