I have always loved spring and all the color it brings. There is something so beautiful and joyous about the earth blossoming with fresh promises and vibrant hues. They say "spring breathes new life into the world around us".
Flowers have always been my very favorite. They lend so much natural beauty to a portrait, and literally set the foundation for creating a beautiful work of art.
I had seen various images of Texas Tulips in Pilot Point, Texas, and decided to take my girls there for an evening. When I arrived, it was extremely crowded with lines extending into the parking lot. There was also intense lighting, since the field has no shade or tree line. Anyone familiar with photography knows that intense lighting and crowded spaces are two very challenging factors to photograph under.
I was determined to leave with the beautiful spring portraits I envisioned. After all, I had driven over an hour from Fort Worth to come to this magical land.
I used creative angles, placement, and worked with blocking the direct back light to achieve these portraits. I also post processed extensively in Photoshop to remove people and distractions from the background before the final artistic enhancement.
Although it was a very tedious job, I am happy to say that I left with portraits I can display of my girls surrounded by the glorious beauty of this Texas field.
